Life drawing today was so challenging! I seldom draw men, let alone an elder man, with plumpiness! But it was super fun, especially his gut.

This was a 2 minute drawing with the non-dominant hand! gah! that was hard!!

Charcoal was pretty fun and messy to draw with! But I'm still not that confident with it just yet... back to the mechanical pencils! lol oh i am so terrible with hands. i keep avoiding to draw them. bleeh.

Introducing, Young Ha Kim!

Such a humble all rounder nice guy... and his art is AMAZING.

I went to his opening night for his exhibition the other day. Well...just see for yourself.

The drawings are based on people at a music gig. Each drawing depicts the rush and thrills of the music flowing through your inner souls while you're at a gig.

Bloody fantastic drawings they are.

I am feeling extremely ecstatic!

I've never ever done this sort of thing before so I was extremely very super nervous.

But now, I can't wait for next time!

Today, I went to a life drawing class. :D !!

I was probably very lucky too as the model was super attractive, and creative with her poses. The atmosphere was casual, lax, encouraging and motivating! Bottles of beer and glasses of wine sold for $2.00, and drawing materials provided. Perfect for a drawing session of a naked lady. ;)

This last one was a really big challenge for me as I am terribly terrible with perspectives and even more so with realistic objects and persons. But I'm quite proud of it :)

we're FEARLESS!

Whew! I've been pretty busy these days! But I've also managed to procrastinate plenty...

But finally, I have finished a painting that is exclusive to an awesome upcoming event, STAGE FRIGHT that will be happening only a few weeks away!

Unfortunately I dont have a bigger scanner so this is just a photo quality... see the real thing on the day! psst...! It will also be available for auction! :O

haha ok enough plugging. Just a little about the picture... when i am alone, i can be a big scaredy-cat, i have low self esteem, i am shy and have no courage to do anything. But when i have my best mates with me, standing and fighting side by side with me, i am confident, courages, adventurous and a little crazy! We need our friends and family... because they give us strength... Even when you mostly want to be alone and try to fight the big bad monster alone... it is always better to have that load lifted off your shoulders... (or in this case, have a chicken on your head!)

I appreciate my friends and the support and love they give me everyday. You guys are the best!

It's the new year! woo! Happy jolly new year to you all! yehay!! weehee!! yaahaa!! wahoo!!

ahem.

so, 2012 huh...? The year where we are all going to die. lol.

That's cool. Bring it!

Because this year, I am going to soldier forward... with a few set of resoloutions!

Unlike Calvin, who is super awesome, created by super awesome Bill Watterson (my other hero!!), I'm not perfect and there are a few things that needs changing... (too many commas? too bad!)

This year I will:

• be more art productive
• keep my room clean
• read more books
• spend more time with family
• work out and lose those darn extra kgs!

I think I am doing pretty well so far!

This was inspired by Tessa & the Typecasts' song, "Painter".

Since I am a nurse at the forefront, I'm restricted in my creativity.

But that doesn't mean I will ever stop drawing/painting/creating.

I'll just have to make time for both...though I have been finding it difficult in recent years.

But 2012 is afterall, the end of the world and so I am going to try harder so that I would live with no regrets in my life.

One of my birthday gifts is a sketch book. This means I need to scribble and doodle heaps more!

I've also signed myself up to a lot of upcoming projects which I am very excited about!

I won't list them all as it would ruin the surprise but keep a watch eye!

I ACTUALLY cleaned and rearranged my room today! Its a new year, so I've revamped my room with an awesome new bookcase and side table. It's so roomy now! Let's see how long THAT would last though... hahaa

So I think I am doing a pretty good job so far for 2012! But as all new year resolutions go.. it dies. Just like how the world would on December 21st. haha!

Stop being so morbid.

merry fairy dairy berry xmas 2011!!

I can't believe christmas is just around the corner.

And when Christmas is up and coming, so is my birthday... UUEEGH!

But that is ok. It means the holidays are coming for most people.

People need to lax out and rest! (Not nurses though, its a 24/7 job! But we sacrifice our holidays to care for your family. RESPECT OUR WORK kthnx. What was that about? let me explain, Victorian Nurses at the moment are trying to fight the silly government to not make changes that could harm our patients. But the public reckons we just want a pay rise. I just dont want to have up to 10 patients as opposed to the 4 I get now. I don't want to come into work for 3-4 hrs in the morning, knock off and come back again at night the same day. Nurses are nurses for a reason! We care for the PEOPLE. not the condition. But the Government wants nurses to take on more work, stress more and see patients as problems instead - Just so they could save a few bucks. Sorry, that's unfair. Our work is hard, but the community appreciates it, why can't you Ballieu? Anyways enough ramble on the nursing strike thats happening now ahaha!!)

Has anyone been to a burlesque show lately? I absolutely love their costumes. (<- this link shows where i got my reference image from. soooo prettyyyyyy!!)

If you notice, I really suck at hands. So instead of practising, I've hidden them behind astronomy and a sweet.

Unfortunately my printer couldnt scan the whole page... so I took a photo for interest as to how it looks on the page. My scanner loses a whole lot of colour too :( I also hate how i painted her cloak. bleegghh. just dont look at that ok? :P

I can't seem to find my palette... My room is in extreme mess you think I got robbed. So in consequence I used scrap paper as a palette. Bad idea! When paper gets wet, the paper fibres become loose, creates clumps and goes all over your brush and painting! lesson learnt!

Anyways! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas, Heaps of hugs and cuddles from me.
